	Ryan Pierce runs [[Leica S430 Scanning Electron Microscope\|SEM]] user authorizations which consist of a 3 hour group lecture (watch the mailing list, he tries to schedule these at varying times monthly) after which you must schedule a 1 1/2 hour slot with him for hands on individual instruction. Users completing this will be authorized to use the SEM to view samples already in the sample chamber. Ryan can work with users to prepare samples which users can view. Additional advanced authorizations (sample prep, EDX analysis, critical point drying) are in the works.

	Examples of broken paths are not regularly scheduled authorizations, or authorizations where there are frequent complaints about not being able to get authorized.

			* Not regularly scheduled Certifications
			* Waiting for a mailing list post
			* requiring a specific member, or overly small group of members to use a machine.
			* Requiring knowledge of PS:One's internal strucure
			* Requiring knowldege of specific member's of PS:One, or requiring contacting members that do not have publicly available contact information.
			* Certification paths that have frequent complaints of not being able to get certified.
