Background

The Small Metals area is seeking $8000 for the next fiscal year (FY 2017-18). Since this is a new area, the 2017 budget will cover non-recurring structural expenses and basic equipment purchases in addition to routine maintenance and consumables.

Furniture & infrastructure: $2500

• benches & stools
• cabinets/ shelving
• commercial stainless sink
• ventilation

Major equipment: $3500

• burnout kiln
• hydraulic press & tooling
• 2 additional air-acetylene torches
• wet/dry belt sander

Additional tools & supplies: $2000

• Forming hammers & stakes
• wax carving tools & supplies
• consumables such as:
  • sand paper
  • copper sheet & wire
  • solder

Language

Authorize the board to spend up to $X to cover Small Metals Area expenditures for the fiscal year of 2017. The board may assign this spending authority to the area host. This spending authorization goes into effect 2017-01-01 and expires 2017-12-31.
